Ornua is actively seeking an Operations Finance Business Partner to join our Finance department as we continue our growth trajectory.

The Operations Finance Business Partner will play a key role in overseeing statutory audits, internal audit requirements, and implements stronger internal controls and improved financial processes.

You will bring technical expertise particularly in audit, financial reporting, and IFRS helping to reduce operational risk, accelerate process improvements, and maintain seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

This role safeguards financial integrity and supports the organisation in meeting its regulatory and strategic commitments.

Why This Role Is Valuable:

As our Operations Finance Business Partner, you will ; 

  • Produce and analyse weekly variance reporting for Labour and Materials, reporting to Operations and wider
  • Produce & analyse weekly variance reporting for Labour and Materials, reporting to Operations and wider business, providing insights into large variances and reviewing any potential required changes
  • Analyse weekly Packaging Price Variance, Waste and Distribution costs reporting to relevant cost centre holders to ensure cost control measures
  • Support Finance Manager to review existing and develop new reporting to add value & enable continuous improvement of Operations Finance support
  • Produce & analyse weekly developments on Rework generation, consumption and disposal, providing insights and recommendations on corrective actions
  • Develop forward-looking reporting on Rework to facilitate tighter working capital control and mitigate risk
  • Inventory risk monitoring and management, including NRV stock provision calculation to ensure compliance with group policy
  • Partner with Operations to identify areas of continuous improvement and drive improved cost control & efficiencies
  • Responsible for delivery of month-end Overheads for all Operations cost centres, monitoring & challenging spend to budget/forecast as needed
  • Own the annual Budget setting process for Operational Costs & support the annual Budget setting process for Capital Expenditure
  • Own the monthly forecast process for Capital Expenditure including tracking actuals against plan
  • Maintain good working relationships with Commercial teams to understand impact of commercial plans across Operations
  • Support Finance and Operations teams with relevant projects or other ad-hoc requirements
  • In addition to the listed responsibilities, the employee may be required to perform any tasks related to their job category as instructed by their supervisor, including cleaning the equipment used and, in case of emergency, other necessary duties, always respecting their dignity.

 

What You Bring To The Role:

 

  • Qualified Accountant with 3+ years of relevant experience 
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment essential
  • Experience partnering with non-finance functions to influence decision making 
  • Numerate with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Competent IT & system skills (Advanced Excel & Microsoft Office Tools) 
  • Technical/analytical mindset, able to organise & manipulate data
  • Enthusiastic, team player with a drive to get hands on
  • Proficient in the English Language 
  • Whilst not essential, the following would be advantageous
    o    Experience within the food or manufacturing industry
    o    Power BI experience
    o    Previous experience of M3 or similar ERP system
    o    Exposure to project work
