WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE: Lab Technicians are essential for Monitoring and preform necessary test for Raw Materials, finished goods and production line sample, also they are monitoring and validating the SOPs and preforming Environmental monitoring test.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Collect, label, and prepare raw material, in-process, finished product, and environmental samples for laboratory testing.
- Perform routine physical, chemical, and microbiological tests in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
- Accurately record test results, maintain laboratory documentation, and prepare reports in compliance with quality standards.
- Support quality control activities by monitoring product quality and identifying any deviations from specifications.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), HACCP, and food safety regulations during all laboratory activities.
- Assist in investigating out-of-specification (OOS) results and report abnormalities to the Quality Assurance or Laboratory Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the laboratory, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals and biological waste.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure timely testing and release of raw materials and finished products.
- Participate in internal audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory operations and quality systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements while maintaining confidentiality of laboratory data.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Knowledge of sample collection, preparation, and routine chemical and microbiological testing.
- Understanding of GMP, GLP, HACCP, food hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with instruments such as pH meters, weighing balances, moisture analyzers, incubators, and microscopes.
- Basic understanding of raw material, in-process, and finished product quality testing.
- Ability to accurately record test results, maintain laboratory records, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Strong observation skills to identify abnormalities and ensure accurate test results.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and data entry for maintaining laboratory reports.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and collaborate effectively with production and quality teams.
- Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals, samples, laboratory equipment, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new testing methods, quality standards, and food industry regulations.
