Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers.

The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America.
It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE:
Head,Finance Value Add Ingredients is responsibility for all aspects of financial activities and monitoring the performance of the company.
Actively participating in strategy development, and identifying new business opportunities.
The FD will be responsible for providing strategic and financial management within Ornua Saudi (Al-Wazeen) and Foods Service and contribute towards the overall success of the Group Finance function in supporting the Group business plan. He will act as a key partner to the Operations Director, Head Value Add Ingredients,Finance Director OEM and OEM SLT, providing support, development and implementation of a business growth strategy focused on profitability. He will have complete ownership of all internal Al Wazeen ,Food Service and Group financial management and reporting .
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Responsible for two key P&Ls- Ornua Saudi and Food Service.
- Lead and supporting the senior management teams, delivering a high-performance culture, living the Ornua values in a multi cultured environment.
- Providing accurate financial results designed to add insight into the performance of the business at the appropriate levels and on a timely basis, providing clear transparency against the business objectives.
- Develop, Support, and monitor the Strategic business plan through working closely with the Operations Director, Head Value Add Ingredients,Finance Director OEM and OEM Regional team.
- Leadership and support initiatives across all functions to deliver growth and cost opportunities for the business.
- Delivery of Management/Statutory accounts, Budgeting/Forecasting, variance analysis, site metric’s reporting, payroll.
- Monitor Cash flow, funding Management and working capital.
- Oversee employee benefit plans, with emphasis on maximising a cost-effective benefit package (Expat’s versus local)
- Managing and developing the Finance team and ensuring build out of synergies and capabilities across wider MEA finance team
- Work closely with Ingredients International Finance Director in ensuring that we have a capable , skilled , agile and flexible high performing finance team
- Management and development of internal controls, overseeing observance of all company policies and procedures (localise where required) and identify risks to ensure the business meets its financial and legal obligations (Saudi Arabia and Ireland)
- Clear insight into the market we operate in, commercial, operational, and culturally.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 +years of professional accounting experience.
- Professional accounting certification, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, project finance, financial modelling and, financial performance indicators
- Strong knowledge of KSA tax environment and Culture
- Understanding and ability to translate technical and commercial issues into financial impacts.
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to provide strategic commercial input.
- Capable of working with cross functional teams, in a dynamic, at times fast-paced, environment.
