Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world.  Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

Kerrygold Park is Ornua’s new state of the art manufacturing facility and centre of excellence for the Kerrygold Brand. 

 

The Senior Planner  is responsible for converting the demand plan into a supply plan for Kerrygold Park and ensuring that raw material planning, Inbound logistics scheduling, warehouse capacity and production scheduling are aligned to meet requirements. 

 

 

 

 

key areas of responsibility:

 

  • Work closely with Global demand Planning & production to ensure there is a clear understanding of market requirements from the site.
  • Oversee Supply planning for the site and ensure that the site delivers capacity requirements based on smart and effective production planning and scheduling.
  • Management of Raw Material Supply (incl. Cream + Raw Materials), Packaging & Dispatch of Finished Goods – On Time In Full & Right First Time.
  • Management of local Stock / Inventory levels on site based on agreed metrics.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of Plant Wide data metrics relating to supply from ERP / MES.
  • Leading input stakeholder in the S&OP processes (local).
  • Oversee team to ensure the accurate reporting of Raw Material/Packaging consumption and yield of processing of ingredients through the plant.
  • Lead the Supply Planning Team to ensure all KPIs are met
  • Support initiatives projects to drive efficiencies around production, materials, and logistic.
  • Coordinate with senior management site Business Continuity plan regarding supply of materials and capacity for the plant.
  • Develop and coach the local Supply chain planning team with a focus on performance, collaboration, and cross functional teamwork
  • Key focus on development of the team to ensure that robust and succession plans are in place for critical positions.
  • Lead and drive engagement of the team
  • Drive a culture that promotes and maintains a safe and healthy workplace for employees, ensuring that all Health & Safety procedures and legislative requirements are adhered to.  
  • Drive a culture of Quality to ensure all standards are adhered to.

 

 

Candidate profile:

 

The ideal candidate will come from a World Class Manufacturing environment with some within the food industry experience. She/he will have a proven track record of leading a complex supply chain planning team in a regulated industry.

 

Key Requirements & Competencies

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in Supply Planning role
  • Experience of successfully leading a team
  • Background in FMCG with experience of all aspects of the End-to-End Supply Planning, ideally dairy however food, beverage, pharma or other process industries will be considered.
  • The ability to positively contribute to strategic business decision-making
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills.
  • IT literate with strong Word, Excel and database skills.
  • Problem solver, disciplined in collecting information, ascertaining root cause of issues and Identifying and developing practical solutions.
  • FORWARD LOOKING: Leads others through change and contributes to competitive challenges and functional strategic plans.

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Masters in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Management Systems or equivalent
