Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. 

 

Ornua has revenues of €3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,800 employees. The Group operates as a commercial organisation across 10 business units, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa. 

 

The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America. 

 

It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa. 

 

 

The Role

 

We are seeking an analytical driven and collaborative Retail Butter Demand Executive who will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of retail butter demands. 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

 

  • Working with the Demand Planning Manager to ensure the delivery of the retail butter demands
  •  Responsible for ongoing review of finished stock, bulk butter, and packaging stocks
  • Issuing of purchase orders to ensure the accurate ordering of butter from manufacturers (Kerrygold Park and other suppliers) as required
  • Manage stock review of retail butter and engage with stakeholders as required
  •  Oversee the issuing of bulk butter to Kerrygold Park and other manufacturers of retail Kerrygold products
  • Organize samples from chilled warehouses when required for testing in conjunction with other departments
  • Liaise with Inventory Controller on stock variances
  • Monitor packaging stocks with external suppliers
  •  Liaise with Kerrygold Park and customer service on UK orders
  •  Develop and maintain professional relationships and mutual trust with cross functional stakeholders
  • Chair the weekly Bulk Planning meeting attended by Co-op Procurement & Kerrygold Park / Co-op Supply Chain to ensure Kerrygold Park’s Bulk Butter requirements are understood and coordinates any actions required
  •  Chair the weekly OFUK and Foods International MTO Order Management calls with the Foods Commercial team and KGP Production and Materials team.
  •  Management of relevant 3rd Party Retail Butter suppliers:
  • Creation of production forecast reconciling demand & capacity monthly.
  • Stock modelling to identify any supply continuity or pipeline risks monthly
  • Relationship management & communication lead with suppliers.
  • Represent the Demand function as a project team member for NPD projects.
  •  Liaising with Commercial & Market teams.

 

 

Key Skills / Attributes

 

  • Diploma or degree, preferably some experience in supply chain and/or planning
  • Understanding of ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills required
  • Strong numeric, data/analytical and organizational skills
