WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE?

 

These newly created roles (2 roles) are an exciting opportunity to join Ornua’s R&D team to support the growth ambition of the Kerrygold brand to double by 2030. You will support the growth of the Ornua Foods business through the innovation pipeline by focusing on manufacturing capabilities across the Ornua Business portfolio. Based in Mitchelstown, this role will report directly to the Head of New Product Management. 

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

  • Understand dairy processing capabilities across all Ornua sites.  

  • Collaborate with the R&D team, demonstrating a sound understanding of dairy processing requirements at the design stage to validate and identify manufacturing process capabilities and site readiness, as well as identifying and mitigating any risks.   

  • Collaborate with multifunctional stakeholders such as R&D, Operations, Supply chain and technical across manufacturing sites to support and deliver innovation from prototype to commercial scale-up and production, both effectively and efficiently.  

  • Ensure that all new manufacturing processes that are introduced into production site meet both quality standards and regulatory requirements, and ensure site handover is smoothly managed and established.  

  • Communicate, monitor and provide reports to the head of NPM and the wider R&D team on project progress and progression.   

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the manufacturing, R&D and site stakeholder teams.  

  • Seek to continuously improving current processes, keeping up to date with current trends on new leading manufacturing technologies.  

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, and or Engineering, or a related field.  

  • Currently leading/managing and delivering projects through to successful implementation within the food industry (and or pharma) demonstrating: an excellent knowledge and focus on the manufacturing processes and the successful role out and implementation of new skus to site.  
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities, with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.  

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions and provide solutions in a manufacturing environment
