The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.


Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto and BEO. Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and the US.


Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.


Kerrygold Park is Ornua’s new state of the art manufacturing facility and centre of excellence for the Kerrygold Brand.

Key Areas of Responsibility:


  • Accountability for Safety, Quality, Service, Competitiveness and People and meeting associated KPIs including:


    • Health & Safety.
    • Quality & GMP standards.
    • Production plan creation & attainment
    • Training versatility matrix.
    • Waste reporting & reduction.
    • Weekly Manufacturing Orders & materials consolidation.
    • Resource planning.
    • Factory & Supplier non-conformance follow ups & closeouts.
    • Performance reporting & analysis.
    • Reporting & analysing production metrics.
    • ERP & OEE systems SME.


  • Develop and/or identifies new work processes to improve the utilization of human and material resources within production or related departments.
  • Develop and improve standard business processes to actively increase information flow, and accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement - investigate and solves problems that impact work processes and personnel within production.
  • Subject matter expert in ERP and OEE systems and identify opportunities for system enhancement within ERP functionality, developing processes to increase information accuracy.
  • Resource planning: Co-ordinate the resource and holiday plan & report on head count & overtime planning accuracy.
  • Training – work with the production teams in the delivery of the training plans
  • Coordinate within production support functions to implement containment and route cause fixes to manufacturing / production issues.
  • Support & implement best practice standard work on shop floor to improve safety and quality and maximise efficiency.
  • Work cross functionally with the Production teams, Supply Chain & Finance to ensure all MOs are consolidated on a daily, weekly & monthly basis.
  • Generate waste stream reports & develop & implement processes to reduce same.
  • Act as cover for Production Manager as and when required.
  • Willingness to travel as required.


Key Requirements:

  • Excellent people leadership skills and associated track record, with a clear commitment to coaching and developing teams.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills
  • Problem solver, disciplined in collecting information, ascertaining root cause of issues and identifying and developing practical solutions.
  • Third level qualification in, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Business, SCM or equivalent or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification
  • Accredited Lean / Six Sigma qualification (Green Belt or Higher) desirable
