Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

Kerrygold Park is Ornua’s new state of the art manufacturing facility and centre of excellence for the Kerrygold Brand.  


The Global Retail Butter Demand Planning Manager role is responsible for strategically managing the retail butter requirements based on forecasted marketing requirements.


The role can be based in Kerrygold Park, Mitchelstown or Dublin. 




  • Manage retail butter demand planning for retail butter taking into consideration forecasted market requirements, contracted cream utilisation, production capacity limitations and production run/output optimisation.  
  • Responsible for ongoing review of finished stock, bulk butter, and packaging stock.
  • Responsible for management and planning of bulk butter requirements for packing in various locations.
  • Engage and align with market demand teams for all regions to ensure a clear understanding of current market and future demand. 
  • Ensure demand forecast is shared in level of detail and timing required to production plant supply planning teams.
  • Leading input stakeholder in the S&OP processes (Global and local).
  • Purchase pricing arrangement and control for all third-party retail suppliers.
  • Contract packing arrangements as required - Negotiation and set up of packing arrangements.
  • Work closely with the NPD team on all NPD retail butter and other allocated retail products initiatives as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the demand planning and forecasting processes to ensure standard ways of working. 
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships and mutual trust with cross functional stakeholders. 



  • Degree or equivalent, preferably supply chain or business management
  • Proven demand planning experience (over 5 years’ experience in a leading demand planning role)
  • Expertise in demand forecasting processes, including best practices and tools
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills required
  • Strong numeric, data / analytical, financial, and organizational skills
  • The ability to positively contribute to strategic business decision-making
