Ornua operates from 10 business units worldwide, including 13 production facilities, and has sales and marketing teams working in-market across all four corners of the globe.

 

The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.

 

Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto and BEO. Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and the US.

 

Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

 

  

Key responsibilities:

 

Business Partnering

  • Work closely with General Manager, Financial Controller and KGP Leadership to provide operations and commercial support on a day-to-day basis
  • Enable and drive decision making through robust financial analysis on capital investment, cost saving and innovation initiatives.
  • Drive absolute clarity on Bill of Materials by SKU and manage packing rate changes
  • Work close with Group and Foods Finance to ensure clarity on financial performance

 

Operations

  • Work closely with Operations Director to identify Continuous Improvement improvements and cost saving initiatives
  • Provide detailed financial analysis to support capital investment decisions
  • Develop and publish KPI reporting to drive improvement in Operations
     

Commercial

  • Work closely with Head of Commercial Director to support innovation projects, Product Portfolio Management and cost savings on raw materials, including packaging
  • Develop and publish KPI reporting to drive improvement in Commercial

 

Financial Performance Management

  • Deliver monthly analysis of results and suggest corrective actions to be taken to deliver EBITA targets. This should include variance analysis to Budget and provide narrative on causes of variance.
  • Creation and periodic (weekly, monthly, etc) circulation of relevant financial reports to measure performance against budgets, KPI targets, etc.and provide financial insights
  • Working with Budget owners, lead periodic cost reporting across all functions to ensure delivery of targets.

 

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead annual budget process, delivering a clearly articulated and initiative driven business plan
  • Lead preparation of detailed quarterly forecast (3+9, 6+6 and 9+3) throughout the year
  • Weekly and Monthly Flash forecast preparation and submission
  • Lead preparation of P&Ls for 5 Year strategic plans

  • Provide cover for Financial Controller when necessary
  • Support miscellaneous project work

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 5+ years PQE
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel an advantage
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Strong influencing skills
  • Ability to lead and drive change
  • Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical skills
  • Experience operating as a business partner to commercial functions
  • Highly motivated and dynamic
