Job Title:                    Warehouse Operative FLT 

Reports to:                Production Shift Manager

Location:                   Ornua Nutrition UK Ltd, Sunnyhills Road, Leek, ST13 5RJ

Hours:                        40hrs per week, rotating shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, Mon - Fri

Salary:                        £9.70 per hour, rising with training

Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

The Role:

 

  • To participate fully as a member of the Warehouse team, ensuring that all Warehouse and Distribution requirements are met.

 

  • To ensure that all activities are conducted in a manner which satisfies all internal company procedures and standards.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

  • To organise and undertake the loading and unloading of vehicles.

 

  • To accept deliveries in accordance with company requirements.

 

  • To pick orders on time and within business requirements.

 

  • To count stocks of raw materials finished goods and packaging as required, including actively participating in stock checks.

 

  • To ensure that all products are located in the warehouse in a timely fashion.

 

  • To ensure that requisitions are transferred to the factory in a timely fashion.

 

  • To ensure that finished goods are correctly located.

 

  • To fully utilise the M3 & BEC system to ensure that all stock movements are recorded in accordance with company procedure.

 

  • Supply materials to and from production lines.

 

  • Receipting of finished goods. 

 

  • Ensuring high standards of quality wrapped finished goods pallets with correct application of container labels.

 

  • As a member of the warehouse team, to play a full part in ensuring all requirements of the site are met, which may include covering other roles to meet the requirements of the business.

 

  • To actively participate in training and development as needs are identified.

 

  • To work closely with all other wider team members, thus ensuring complete flexibility across the warehouse function.

 

  • To actively promote and comply with all employment policies and procedures of the Company.

 

  • To maintain a high level of housekeeping, taking account of safe working practices.

 

  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Production Shift Manager.

 

 

Key requirements

 

  • Good working knowledge of the M3 & BEC system - Desirable.

 

  • Current Reach fork lift truck license.

 

  • Pivot Steer / Flexi-truck licence – Desirable

 

  • Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels.

 

  • Relevant experience in a Warehouse environment.

 

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.

 

  • A logical and systematic approach to problem solving.

 

  • Effective planning, organisational and time management skills.

 

  • Self motivated, Tenacious – completer finisher with good attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

 

  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy.

 

  • Able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for Continuous Improvement.

 

  • Adaptable and flexible approach – ability to provide cover when necessary.
