Job Title:                    Quality Assurance Technician

Reports to:                Quality Assurance Shift Manager

Location:                  Sunnyhills Road, Leek, ST13 5SP

Hours:                      Night Shift 40hrs per week - Sunday - Thursday 22:00 – 06:00

Salary:                        Up to £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Auditing of people, products, systems, procedures, and documentation to identify areas of (possible) non-compliance and ensure the necessary corrective action is taken.
  • Completing scheduled tasks and audits, such as GMP, GHP and Swabbing.
  • Maintaining calibration of all critical site equipment.
  • Maintain quality related records in an orderly manner to allow efficient filing, retrieval, and archiving.
  • Isolating suspect finished goods for decision on disposition, based on risk assessment.
  • Ensuring legally compliant in relation to weight legislation, including T2 checks.




Key requirements

  • Carry out customer/consumer complaint investigation.
  • Audit of quality procedures during production.
  • Maintain the Non-Conformance system, carry out monthly trend analysis.
  • Maintain hygiene standards by following cleaning schedules and keep work areas clean and tidy by adopting ‘clean as you go’ principles.
  • Maintain food safety related audits e.g., glass and Perspex / hard plastic, personal hygiene at the prescribed frequency.
  • Carry out traceability exercises as per procedure.
  • Carry out projects as directed.
  • To be aware of and adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • To undertake any other associated duties which may occasionally arise.
  • To undertake additional shifts to cover extended running hours or holiday cover as required.
  • Support customer visits & audits.


Key requirements and competencies

  • Must have experience of working in a food production environment, be confident in handling numerical information and be able to work in an organised manner with minimal supervision.
  • Must be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Basic understanding of microbiology.
  • Basic understanding of HACCP.
  • Basic understanding of weight legislation.
