WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE 

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Warehouse, including managing employees within the department, meeting company and customer targets and requirements, and complying with health, safety and standard operating procedures.  This role ensures inventory accuracy of the site by executing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and keeping physical inventory aligned with the Warehouse Management (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.  The role also manages the timely receipt and shipment of materials across all warehouse locations. 

 

This position reports directly to the Plant Manager at the Hillsboro location for Ornua Ingredients North America. 

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

  • Enforces established safety guidelines to promote a safe work environment.  

  • Overseas daily warehouse operations and supervises warehouse team members and the shipping and receiving of all materials. 

  • Assists in the planning, assignment, and execution of daily and weekly operational work goals in all warehouse phases, including shipping and receiving.  

  • Ensures requests for quality samples to be delivered to the Quality Lab.  

  • Oversees maintenance of physical condition and organization of warehouse. 

  • Monitors and motivates team members to meet deadlines and target goals.  

  • Ensures accurate and timely shipment and receipts.  

  • Perform duties following all good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) including food, equipment, and operating safety requirements.  

  • Performs routine warehouse inspections on racks and storage areas for structural damage and submits work orders for timely repair 

  • Manage onsite equipment used in supporting warehouse operations 

  • Ensures inventory accuracy of site by executing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and keeping physical inventory aligned with the Warehouse Management (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems 

  • Ensures timely completion of all cycle counts while delivering on inventory accuracy targets.   

  • Ensures that Warehouse is shipping and receiving materials timely and maintaining alignment between physical stock, Warehouse Management (WMS) and Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) systems. 

  • Maintains strong attention to material utilization, process flow, cycle time, Lean manufacturing and inventory control. 

  • Schedule trucking of incoming raw materials shipments and outgoing finished product shipments using commercial and customer/supplier designated carriers. Verify driver identification against driver identification files  

  • Inspect trucks for appropriate sanitary conditions on all incoming and outgoing shipments. Fill out inbound/outbound inspection documentation  

  • Ensure seals are placed on all out-going shipments and ensure seals are intact on in-coming shipments. Prepare Bill of Ladings inclusive of product information, common carrier information, seal number and temperature requirement  

  • Establishes and tracks KPI’s for functional area (inventory accuracy / stacking / utilization / inbounds / outbounds / etc.) to measure on-going performance 

  • Conduct or oversee appropriate Risk Assessments for the Warehouse department  

  • Ensure security of warehouses (doors sealed, lights in working order, docks plates and levelers in good condition)  

  • Assist with appropriate Accident/Incident Investigations and Right-to-Refuse Investigations  

  • Conduct a monthly Safety Inspection  

  • Investigates continual improvement opportunities based on employee suggestions and relevant legislation  

  • Resolves employee conflicts. 

  • Operates forklift, performs all equipment checks for personal operation; reviews all preoperational checklist for all forklifts in warehouse.  

  • Inspects packaged products, received ingredients and informs proper parties of damage or concerns and records in company systems.  

  • Oversee the completion of all necessary cleaning and workplace sanitation requirements.  

  • Record necessary warehousing information in a tablet, computer or by hand.  

  • Attend all required company training. 

  • Flexible to support work in all areas as needed. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum 1-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment 

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required, additional education a plus 

  • 3+ years warehouse experience 

  • Knowledge of computerized inventory and tracking systems  

  • Learn how to drive forklift and maintain Ornua Forklift License 

  • Perform duties following all good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) including food, equipment, and operating safety requirements 

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
