Packaging/Production Floater (1st Shift)

Ornua Ingredients North America specializes in custom-formulating and manufacturing a wide range of pasteurized process cheese products. We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and adaptable team member to join our fast-paced production environment.

This role offers variety and flexibility, as the Packaging/Production Floater will support both the Production and Packaging departments by filling in during employee absences and providing assistance where needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Liners: Employees working in this position are responsible for inserting the appropriate plastic film (liners) into their boxes for the Filler.   
• Fillers: Filler Operators are responsible for operating the bulk fill machine, ensuring that each case of finished product is filled to the specified weight. 
• Folders: Employees working in this position are responsible for folding the plastic liner over the finished product, inserting top pads or labels (if required – customer specific) and sealing the case.  
• Box Makers: Employees in this position are responsible for assembling boxes of varying size and shape.  These employees may also be required to fill in on line positions for breaks. 
• Personnel in the Stacker position are responsible for stacking the finished goods into a container or onto a skid
• Required to follow all good manufacturing practices and demonstrate/practice safe work habits.
• Open barrels, block, or bags of cheese and other ingredients
• Ensure recycling and garbages in plant are emptied to allow for smooth production
• Weigh the ingredients to the specified amount per individual batch sheets
• Use knives and wires to cut and trim the ingredients to the correct weights
• Place bags of cheese into boxes and send through to get taped and boxed
• Stack packed boxes of cheese onto a pallet
• Transfer ingredients from the scale to the pick-up tables
• Heavy lifting and the ability to load cheese into grinders is required
• Maintain a clean and safe work areas
• All other duties as assigned
