Job Summary: The Sales Director is directly responsible for profitably building Ornua’s sales volume within a designated account group. This individual both prospects for new business and supports Ornua’s current sales volume with existing customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly represent Ornua Ingredients North America to current and prospective cutomers, effectively visiting these customers on a monthly or quarterly basis as needed via in person meetings, trade shows, Ornua plant visits, phone call, and Teams meetings.
- Build sales volumes in a profitable manner within assigned customer base.
- Convey technical messages that leverage Ornua’s unique capabilities and satisfy customer needs, conduct capabilities presentations when needed.
- Prospect new accounts and uncover new sales opportunities that align with Ornua capabilities.
- Develop a strong project pipeline for near, mid-term, and long-term sales potential with key accounts and prospects.
- Execute a sales strategy that promotes a balanced product mix and healthy margin management.
- Completes required reports and forms, (i.e., weekly summaries, customer call reports, pipeline reports, sample requests, pricing requests, expense reports), accurately and in timely fashion.
- Ensures Ornua’s on-boarding information packet is completed for new potential customers.
- Attends and works selected sales trade shows representing the company.
- Professionally represent Ornua at various industry and customer functions.
- Assists Ornua internal accounting in collecting on past due accounts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Science or related field
- 5+ years’ experience as a successful direct salesperson selling food, and ideally dairy products, as an ingredient, to food manufacturers.
- Extensive contacts with R&D, Purchasing and Marketing personnel at major domestic food processors.
- Ability to work cross functionally with internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success leveraging CRM (SalesForce) to drive sales process.
- Ability to travel 2+ weeks per month.
- Excellent verbal, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
