The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America.
It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Provide technical support to the Product Development Managers ensuring the efficient & successful execution of active projects.
- Perform all laboratory analysis, product functionality testing and evaluations with skill while focusing on accuracy and precision.
- Assist on bench scale and pilot plant trial work and testing.
- Assuring that all laboratory records are kept up to date
- Create and plan testing schedules as required
- Communicating results in an accurate and timely manner
- Carry out both routine laboratory work as well as project and customer related laboratory work and contribute to the day to day running of the laboratory.
- Ensure that the laboratory environment is an organised, clean, tidy, safe place to work, and that it is well stocked.
- Keep all equipment well maintained and up to date with calibrations and services, maintaining calibration records up to date.
Key Requirements and Competencies
- A laboratory skills-based qualification.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with other members of innovation team
- Flexibility of doing a mix of desk, laboratory and pilot plant work.
- IT literate with strong Excel and Email skills.
- Health, Safety and Environmental awareness
