Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers.
Ornua has revenues of €3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,800 employees. The Group operates as a commercial organisation across 10 business units, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America.
It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE:
Develop and lead the global supply chain capability agenda by documenting end-to-end processes, building and maintaining the capability framework, and delivering training that equips global and regional teams to operate consistently, effectively, and in line with the global operating model.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Process Documentation & Standards:
- Document global supply chain processes across planning, fulfilment, logistics, inventory, and S&OP.
- Maintain a central repository of process maps, SOPs, RACIs, templates, and standards.
- Ensure processes are aligned with global policies and updated as improvements are implemented.
- Partner with SMEs and regional teams to validate and embed process standards.
Training Design & Delivery:
- Develop and deliver training programmes for global and regional supply chain teams.
- Create learning materials, playbooks, e-learning modules, and facilitator guides.
- Coordinate onboarding and upskilling for new processes, systems, and tools.
- Track training completion, competency levels, and adoption across regions.
Capability Framework Ownership:
- Design and maintain the global supply chain capability framework (skills, behaviours, proficiency levels).
- Assess capability gaps and create targeted development plans.
- Support career pathways and role clarity across supply chain functions.
- Partner with HR/L&D to align capability frameworks with organisational standards.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Enablement:
- Work closely with regional supply chain leaders to understand capability needs.
- Support change management for new processes, systems, and ways of working.
- Facilitate workshops, communities of practice, and knowledge-sharing forums.
- Act as a central point of contact for capability and training queries.
Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate training effectiveness and process adoption using feedback and performance data.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve learning experiences.
- Support global transformation initiatives with capability and training components
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in supply chain, operations, learning & development, or process excellence.
- Strong experience documenting processes (e.g., BPMN, Visio).
- Proven ability to design and deliver training in both virtual and in-person formats.
- Experience developing capability frameworks or competency models.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across regions and functions.
- Experience in a multinational or global supply chain environment preferred.
