Risk and Assurance Analyst

Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. 

Ornua has revenues of €3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,800 employees. The Group operates as a commercial organisation across 10 business units, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa. 

The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America. 

It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa. 

WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE: 

This role provides cross-functional support to the Risk & Insurance function, spanning Insurance, Compliance Operations and Enterprise Risk Management. The role focuses on delivering accurate data, reporting and tracking, ensuring key processes run consistently and on time, and supporting the organisation’s risk, compliance and insurance frameworks. It is a hands-on, high-visibility role within a lean team, designed to free up senior resources to focus on decision-making, strategy and stakeholder engagement. This role provides broad exposure to risk, compliance and insurance disciplines. It offers strong development opportunities and potential career progression to roles such as Insurance Operations Manager, Compliance Operations Manager and Enterprise Risk Manager.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Insurance Support:

• Maintain claims trackers and produce claims MI
• Support the renewal process (timelines, data requests, submissions)
• Consolidate and validate exposure data
• Track policy documentation (certificates, endorsements)
• Support captive reporting through data collation
• Track insurer risk recommendations

Compliance Operations Support:

• Support policy standardisation programme
• Maintain framework documentation e.g. risk assessments, universe etc
• Maintain policy logs and documentation
• Assist in early-stage monitoring and evidence gathering
• Support standard reporting to Exec, Audit & Risk Committee etc

Enterprise Risk Management Support:

• Track risk mitigation actions
• Support fraud workstreams
• Support research into emerging risk topics and deep dives

Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Produce management information (MI) to support Risk & Assurance strategy
• Co-ordinate OMP reporting
• Manage ‘All Hands’ meeting
• Support reporting for senior leadership

Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years’ experience in a corporate environment
• General business degree or similar
• Strong Excel capability
• Strong organisational skills
