Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers.
Ornua has revenues of €3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,800 employees. The Group operates as a commercial organisation across 10 business units, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America.
It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Contributes to the People Services team by assisting with the administration of employee lifecycle events, including onboarding and offboarding, across various jurisdictions
- Respond to HR enquiries from employees, managers, and HR colleagues, escalating complex queries as needed
- Assist with the contract and onboarding process for new hires
- Communicate payroll instructions in a timebound manner
- Prepare and maintain absence and other people-related reports
- Calculate and update holiday balances
- Complete routine HR processes and data updates using the SuccessFactors HRIS system and PeopleDoc CRM
- Process invoices through the system as required
- Provide basic support for Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) transactions
- Maintain electronic and physical personnel records in line with record retention policies
- Have a general understanding of policies and procedures to help others navigate them, referring to senior colleagues for complex matters
- Participate in data review and assist with user acceptance testing of new processes as directed
- Uphold compliance with employment and data protection legislation, referring issues to management as needed
- Handle confidential information and documentation with discretion
- Support the generation of contracts under supervision
- Assist with scheduling Employee Relations meetings and preparing supporting documentation
- Participate in cross-training activities as required
- Attend team meetings and contribute as needed
- Engage with stakeholders in a professional and supportive manner
Key Skills / Attributes
- 3rd level qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong customer service, time management, and communication skills
- High personal integrity in handling confidential information
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and MS Windows
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is an advantage
- Flexible team player with an interest in HR and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
