Project Co-ordinator - Supply chain and New Product Introduction

Ornua is a dairy co-operative which produces and sells dairy products on behalf of its member Co-operatives; Ireland's dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. It is Ireland's largest exporter of Irish dairy products, exporting to 110 countries worldwide. Ornua operates from 10 business units worldwide, including 13 food production facilities, and has sales and marketing teams working in-market across all four corners of the globe.

The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.

Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua's consumer brands including Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto and BEO. Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and the US.

Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

We are looking for a Head of Legal who will lead a team of lawyers in a dynamic and ambitious Irish-headquartered and Irish-owned food company with operations across the globe.

Ornua Foods ambition for growth is defined in our 2025 plan.  Innovation plays a strategic role in our ability to deliver this growth, with the team responsible for product development across the portfolio of consumer brands including Kerrygold, Pilgrims Choice, Avantage, Forto and Beo.

Based in Dublin, the Foods Innovation team develops new products, new recipes and innovation pipelines with our global Marketing Teams who have a deep understanding of our consumers and customers in markets all over the world. Working in collaboration with our members, manufacturing sites and packing partners is key to the successful commercialisation of new products.

Job Summary:

Working as part of the Innovation Team, and in close cooperation with Operations, this new role’s key function is to manage product and supplier projects from conception to delivery across the following areas:

• • Supplier change projects
  • New product introductions
  • New market expansion
  • Product harmonisation and rationalisation

The role will form the key link between in-market personnel, Operations and Supply Chain around the world and Dublin based head office functions.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 Project manage the supply chain work stream for New Product Development projects:

• Develop best route-to-market for new products in collaboration with Ornua Ingredients, Procurement and Supply Chain teams.
• Design the pallet build to maximise the load within safety and quality guidelines, creating a standard reference for each case and pallet combination.
• Organise transit trials to test pallet design and prove packaging is robust.
• Identify the correct loads for transport.
• Build the supply agreement contract with project team.

Provide project management support to the Innovation Team for the following projects:

• Supplier changes.
• Product modifications.

• Product or supplier harmonisation and rationalisation.

Key Requirements:

• Educated to degree level with at least 3 years’ experience in supply chain and project management.
• Ability to work cross functionally with relevant commercial teams, Ornua members and 3rd party manufacturers.
• Successful track record of project management and delivery.

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and able to work as a team player and on own initiative.
• Proficient stakeholder management with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects across multiple work streams, in a result’s driven environment.
