The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.


Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Kerrygold Avantage, Forto, and BEO.  Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, and the US.


Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world.  Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.


Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity to become a Marketing & Events Manager (maternity cover) on the Ornua Communications team has opened.  It is a versatile role encompassing event management, sponsorship, advertising, corporate and brand communications, internal communications, stakeholder management and reputation management.



Key Responsibilities

  • Guardian of the Ornua brand identity including management of the brand toolkit and overseeing implementation of the brand identity across global sites
  • Manage Ornua’s programme of events to include Ornua’s global trade show, live streams, conferences, sponsorship activation, launches and corporate engagement activities.  
    • Event management of key internal and external events throughout the year 
    • Work closely with Marketing & Events Executive in briefing and liaising with hosts, vendors, exhibitors and key stakeholders on content and logistics from project planning to execution
  • Management of Ornua’s sponsorship programme
  • Content creation (design, video, live broadcast, marketing collateral, presentations, annual report) campaign development and event management (event briefs, agendas, running orders, project and communications plans)
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders including Executive, in-market teams, industry, members and farmer engagement
  • Management of Ornua’s internal Group Communication channels including content creation and employee initiatives
  • Issues and crisis management support
  • Manage relationships with media agencies, PR and creative partners and other third-party suppliers
  • Support and develop the Marketing & Events Executive
  • Financial and other administration support as required


Key requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the Irish dairy industry and passionate about Irish food
  • Stakeholder management – working in a highly collaborative environment this role will require a strong ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience in branding, marketing  
  • An excellent understanding of how to communicate with different audiences and strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence and build relationships and to explain complex issues 
  • Strong digital skillset
  • Minimum 5 years of communications agency / in-house experience
  • Proven record of devising internal and external communication plans 
  • Proven record in issues and crisis management
  • Creative and energetic person with an ability to work under own initiative 
  • Goal-oriented, working with passion and motivation to deliver the key initiatives that benefit our internal and external stakeholders 
  • Excellent content creation, copy writing skills and attention to detail 
  • Extensive event management experience  
  • Excellent organisational and project planning/management skills
  • People management experience
  • Experience in budgeting and basic financial reporting 
  • Periods of travel throughout the year 
  • Full driving license
