Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, and the US.

Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

The Role

Our Procurement Analyst will provide support to the corporate procurement team to help evolve our management of our 3rd party providers. They will be a key asset in helping us on our data journey.

 

The role will require a candidate with a desire to learn quickly and great attention to detail. We are looking for a candidate who will be pro-active and solution based. We will provide mentoring and coaching as well as an agreed development plan to support this development.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, the Procurement Analyst will be responsible for providing data backed insights into the Procurement team to assist in the execution of our warehousing & distribution strategy.



 

Key Areas of Responsibility

 

Analytics

  • Support the development of indirect spend category strategies through spend and market profiling.
  • Support execution of go to market strategies including tenders, planning, co-ordinate vendor engagements, and vendor submissions evaluation.
  • Support the Procurement team to develop category strategies, support planning, tracking and finance sign off on achieving commercial initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for savings and present them concisely
  • Support the Procurement team to effectively manage supplier relationships
  • Support vendor onboarding and execution of contracts, if required.
  • Lead the analysis for the warehousing team of key commercial metrics
  • Ability to work with large data sets, analyse, interpret and provide concise insights

Category Support

  • Support Category Manger with execution of category strategy
  • Build supplier relationships with warehouse network
  • Identify opportunities for improvements across the 3PL network, processes etc
  • Monitor capacities with supply chain planning & ops teams and notify areas of concerns early.
  • In conjunction with supply chain planning ensure warehouse network have latest forecast and are resourcing appropriately for our demand
  • Support any operational escalations to resolution with support from appropriate teams.
  • Support Category Manager with completion of performance reviews with 3PL network.

Procurement Administrative Support

  • Raise Purchase Agreements and maintain those agreements in M3 for the Warehousing Category
  • Raise ad hoc Purchase Orders as requested
  • Review the Ways of Working around Purchase Orders and Purchase Agreements for the Warehousing Category
  • Support the wider Procurement team with ad-hoc pieces of administration work
  • Lead the transition to our new technology platform Ornua Source for managing our supply base and contracts and continue to maintain that platform
  • Become the procurement subject matter expert on our ERP system M3

Preferred But Not Essential
 

  • Advanced skills in data analytics working with complex data sets
  • Experience with Power BI, M3 and or Jaggaer
  • Negotiation skills
