The Role

 

We are seeking a Head of Programme Management, within our Global Marketing and R&D functions, to lead the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure the successful delivery of innovation, renovation, and R&D projects. The role will spearhead portfolio prioritisation and the allocation of resources across programmes, manage the PMO team, coordinate end‑to‑end programme and project activities, and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

  • Leadership: Lead and manage the Marketing, Innovation & R&D PMO, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.  Develop and maintain an integrated programme plan across internal and external providers. Accountable for the end-to-end oversight of innovation, renovation and R&D programme delivery versus plan.
  • Strategy: Develop and implement PMO strategies and best practices that support Ornua  business objectives working with other functional leads such as New Product Development, Packaging, Operations, Technical and other cross-functional leads and to drive speed of delivery.
  • Project Management: Manage prioritized projects from brief through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Ensure resource management throughout the programme lifecycle. Drive Change Control Management including scope management with external providers.

 

  • PMO Oversight: Develops the programme governance model. Establish and maintain PMO processes, standards, and tools to ensure effective project governance and delivery. Ensure training of the PMO team and the rest of the organization to establish a unified approach to Project Management and Stage Gate process.

 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to marketing, procurement, legal, technical, supply chain etc., to ensure efforts are aligned with market needs. Ensures smooth running of programme and alignment across workstreams in a coordinated manner. Proactively manages cross-team risks, inter-dependences and issue escalations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the R&D and PMO budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on Innovation, Renovation and R&D and PMO progress and outcomes. Coordinate status reporting across all workstreams.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Currently operating at Programme/Portfolio Management level running and overseeing multiple projects.
  • 5 years experience leading a small team of project managers.
  • Broad PM experience; FMCG, CPG, Food Manufacturing would be a huge advantage.
  • Experience in Portfolio prioritization and E2E project management, working across multifunctional teams and stakeholders to deliver results. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven track record driving strategic projects and teams including collaborating across multiple cross functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
