WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE: 

 

Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, the Senior Internal Auditor will:

  • Provide assurance that internal controls within the group are effective in minimising risk and exposures to acceptable levels, and to provide recommendations for improvement as appropriate.

 

  • Provide assurance on business operations and, as appropriate, recommend feasible ways of improving efficiency, effectiveness and economy of operations.

 

  • Maintain and develop knowledge and expertise in internal audit and related theory, practice and developments through relevant professional reading, seminar attendance, training, etc.

 

  • Apply sound judgment in performance of duties.  Exercise discretion and confidentiality in relation to information and matters encountered in the performance of duties.

The role is based at Group headquarters in Dublin and requires flexibility to travel to the Group’s European, US and other global operations as required.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

 

  • Support internal audit assignments from initiation to completion.
  • Develop audit programmes and audit tests based on the assessment of controls, risks, and exposures. 
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures and identify risks and controls.
  • Conduct risk-based audits of key business processes in accordance with professional standards for internal auditing to ensure that internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively.
  • Perform audit procedures to test the design and effectiveness of the controls.
  • Develop audit findings and ensure evidence exists to support findings.
  • Manage the escalation of relevant matters identified in the audit process to management and IA management.
  • Draft clear concise audit reports with recommendation for control improvements that add value to the business. Agree management actions plans and implementation dates
  • Perform audit work to bring the assigned audits to completion within budgeted time to ensure successful delivery of the agreed internal audit plan.
  • Monitor and follow up on open audit recommendations until closure.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of risk based internal audit plans.
  • Ensure ongoing personal and professional development in Internal Auditing, IT and knowledge and awareness of Group systems and operations.
  • Be an ambassador for the Group Internal Audit function, capable of thought leadership, high performance, business partnering and comfortable interacting with Group Executives and the Audit Committee as needed.

 

 

 

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • Approximately 3 years of experience in internal auditing.
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent from a recognised international accounting institution).
  • FMCG experience is preferred.
  • Data analytics experience an advantage.
  • Ability to effectively work as part of an international team including the ability to travel internationally to destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and North America.
