Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. 

 

Ornua has revenues of €3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,800 employees. The Group operates as a commercial organisation across 10 business units, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa. 

 

The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America. 

 

It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa. 

 

 

The Role

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Ornua’s sustainability team for a Sustainability Data Analyst. The role will report to the Head of ESG Reporting, working closely with Ornua’s Group sustainability specialists, Group ESG Program team, operational sustainability leads and business units across Ornua’s global operations and offices.

 

The ESG Data Analyst will strengthen Ornua’s sustainability reporting capability by partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand data needs, enhance data integrity, and deliver decisionready ESG insights. The role ensures that highquality sustainability data flows reliably through Ornuas systems, supports regulatory compliance, enables robust customer reporting, and informs strategic decisionmaking at management, Executive, and Board level.

 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

 

  • Manage ESG data systems (e.g., Watershed, ERP integrations) and maintain strong governance, validation, and data quality controls.
  • Build and automate data pipelines and workflows to streamline and scale sustainability reporting across the Group.
  • Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources into a consistent, auditready ESG data environment (Watershed).
  • Analyse ESG datasets to identify performance trends, risks, opportunities, and insights for business functions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, reports, and visual insights for management, senior leadership, and the Board.
  • Translate complex data analytics into clear, actionable recommendations tailored to nontechnical audiences.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally to enhance data processes, improve reporting capability, and build ESG literacy across the business.

 

 

Key Skills / Attributes

 

  • Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experience managing large datasets, developing data models, and building automated workflows.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and experience integrating complex operational data sources.
  • Knowledge on data extraction and transformation, data quality management, and system integrations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical insights to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to initiate projects and drive them to completion under guidance.
