The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America.
It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
The Role
The IT Commercial / S&OP Application Specialist is responsible supporting the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing support of commercial and planning applications supporting S&OP / IBP and Trade Promotion Management processes. The role partners closely with Commercial, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT teams to ensure Demand & Supply Planning and Trade Promotion Management (TPM) solutions effectively support forecasting, promotional planning, and business decision-making.
This role has a strong focus on ERP, Demand & Supply Planning platforms, and Commercial TPM solutions such, operating within FMCG and manufacturing environments.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Commercial, S&OP & Planning Systems
- Lead and support the implementation, configuration, and enhancement of Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and S&OP / IBP applications
- Act as IT application owner working in partnership with business owners for commercial planning and TPM platforms
- Ensure planning solutions are integrated with ERP to support end-to-end planning, execution, and financial alignment
- Translate business requirements into functional designs and system configurations
- Support scenario planning, forecasting accuracy, and supply-demand balancing processes
Trade Promotion Management (TPM)
- Support the implementation and optimisation of TPM solutions to enable promotion planning, execution, accruals, and post-event analysis
- Partner with Commercial and Finance teams to ensure accurate trade spend forecasting, control, and ROI measurement
- Work alongside integration, data teams and business to ensure TPM data and processes are integrated with Demand Planning and Infor ERP financial and sales data
Business Engagement & Change
- Act as a trusted IT partner to Commercial, Supply Chain, and Finance stakeholders
- Engage in workshops to define S&OP processes, KPIs, and system requirements
- Support business change and initial user adoption, training, and documentation where relevant. Address systems defects and enhancements where necessary
- Work in partnership with the business to drive improvement in commercial planning and promotional effectiveness
Integration, Data & Analytics
- Work with integration and data teams to maintain robust interfaces and data governance between Demand & Supply planning and commercial systems and ERP / other business systems and data platforms
- Enable performance reporting, what-if analysis, and scenario modelling
Delivery, Governance & Support
- Manage application lifecycle activities including enhancements, upgrades (enhancements), and vendor coordination
- Ensure appropriate governance, controls, and documentation are maintained
Key Skills / Attributes
Essential
- Proven experience in implementing / supporting Demand & Supply Planning and S&OP / IBP solutions, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with ERP (Infor preferable but not mandatory) for commercial, supply chain, or finance integration
- Experience implementing and supporting TPM solutions
- Strong understanding of end-to-end S&OP processes and commercial planning cycles
- Experience integrating planning and TPM tools with ERP platforms
- Strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong communicator able to engage commercial, supply chain, finance, and IT stakeholders
- Commercially and S&OP focused with a data-driven mindset
- Structured, delivery-oriented, and detail-focused
- Comfortable operating in complex, cross-functional environments
- Continuous improvement and customer-focused approach
- Degree in technology or business
- 5+ years’ experience
Desirable
- Experience with Infor planning solutions and Infor M3 ERP or other enterprise ERP and Commercial planning tools
- Knowledge of trade spend management, accruals, and promotional ROI analysis
- Experience working with system integrators and software vendors
