Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world, and for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies.

Why this role is Valuable
The Business Analyst (BA) will work as a shared resource across multiple IT projects, collaborating with senior project managers and project managers to gather, document, and analyse business requirements. The BA will play a critical role in ensuring that projects align with business needs and objectives, providing the necessary bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams. The BA will also support process improvement initiatives, contributing to the overall success of projects and enhancements across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering:
- Work with stakeholders across various business functions to elicit, document, and
analyse business and technical requirements for IT projects and enhancements.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings with subject matter experts to capture all
business needs accurately.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional specifications for IT development teams.
Analysis & Documentation:
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including business cases, process maps, requirement specifications, and use cases.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and aligned with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
Collaboration with PMs:
- Act as a shared resource across multiple senior and project managers, supporting various projects and enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with PMs to ensure that requirements are well-understood and reflected in project plans.
- Support the prioritization of the project and enhancement backlog based on business value and urgency.
- Provide input into project planning, timeline estimation, and resource allocation as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations with stakeholders to validate requirements and align on project scope.
- Manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle and ensure that any changes are communicated and approved in a timely manner.
Process Improvement:
- Support the implementation of process improvements as part of the overall project scope.
Support for Backlog Management:
- Work with PMs to manage and prioritise the project and enhancement backlog, ensuring that all tasks are tracked and updated regularly.
- Assist in defining acceptance criteria and supporting the testing and validating enhancements and project deliverables.
- Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as may be required.
Key Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in IT or technology-focused projects.
- Experience in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements and strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess and translate business needs into actionable requirements.
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business cases, process maps, and requirement specifications.
- Ability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior project managers, project managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on business value and urgency.
- Some travel may be required from time to time to other Ornua locations.
