Warehouse Manager

 

Role Overview:  

The Warehouse Manager oversees and manages the raw material and finished good warehouses both on site and external 3rd party.  This position will be responsible for scheduling all warehouse resources within the Byron Warehouse and maintaining the relationships with 3rd party warehouses.  The position also has responsibility for managing the shuttle operation and the docks at Byron.

 

Reports to:  Plant Manager

 

Principal Duties: 

  1. Oversees and manages the raw materials and finished goods warehouses (internally and externally), ensuring that the warehouses are maintained in a safe operating condition and a food safe environment appropriate for the storage of refrigerated processed cheese products.
  2. Count inventory and enter and communicate to the finance team weekly
  3. Ensures security of warehouses including but not limited to: doors sealed, lights in working order, docks plates and levelers in good condition.
  4. Ensure warehouse remains clean and orderly.
  5. Supervise warehouse employees and oversee daily operations.
  6. Play an active role in interviewing potential candidates, terminating employees, and providing disciplinary actions as needed.
  7. Manage the bi-annual performance review process for the hourly warehouse employees.
  8. Manages the shuttle operations, scheduling loads to maximize the utilization of the shuttle.
  9. Ensure accuracy of all loads and paperwork shipping from outside facilities.
  10. Manage customer service requests promptly and resolves issues quickly.
  11. Working closely with 3rd parties, responsible for on time shipping for customer loads.
  12. Schedule all palletizing operations ensuring FIFO is consistently used.
  13. Assist with the preparation of budgets and costs for warehouse operations.
  14. Ensures seals are placed on all out-going shipments and ensures seals are intact on in-coming shipments. Prepares bill of lading inclusive of product information, common carrier information, seal number and temperature requirement.
  15. Travel to Hayfield or St. Charles warehouses to verify lot numbers and product quantities as needed.
  16. Make necessary adjustments and transfers to fix inventory discrepancies.
  17. Plays an active role as a HACCP Team Member.
  18. May perform other duties as assigned or requested.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in relative field preferred
  2. Minimum 3 years relevant leadership experience in Warehouse Management, ideally for a food company
  3. Strong understanding of HACCP principles
  4. Excellent people relationship skills are a must
  5. Excellent verbal, analytical, and communication skills
  6. Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced work environment
  7. Ability to represent company in an upbeat and professional manner
  8. Knowledge and experience with customer service functions
  9. Must have very strong attention to detail
  10. Supports and plays an active role in a safe work environment
  11. Must be self-motivated, dependable, and a team player
  12. Flexible with schedule is a must
